All scanning, cropping, rotation, PDF generation and (where available) text recognition happen locally on your phone. Your scanned images and PDFs are stored only in the app’s private storage on your device. We do not upload, transmit, or have any access to them.
ScanPine asks for camera permission solely to capture documents. The camera is used only while you are actively scanning. We do not record video or capture images outside of a scan you initiate.
If we offer cloud backup or sync in the future, it will be strictly opt-in and off by default. If you enable it, your documents would be stored in your own personal cloud account (e.g. iCloud) under that provider’s privacy terms. ScanPine will never enable it without your explicit action.
Subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple’s App Store or Google Play. We receive only the anonymous purchase status needed to unlock Pro features. We never see your payment details.
We may collect anonymous, aggregated usage and crash diagnostics to improve the app. These contain no document content and no personally identifying information. Where required, you can opt out in the app settings.
ScanPine is not directed to children under 13 and does not knowingly collect personal information from them.
We’ll update this page if our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above.
